Malaga, the cultural capital of the Costa del Sol, faces the Mediterranean at a 100 km from the Strait of Gibraltar, near two rivers mouth: the Guadalmedina, which divides the old town from the new town, and the Guadalhorce.
The city owes its origins to the Phoenicians of Tyre, around the seventh century B.C.
